Holiday Spiced Cranberry Cider

This year we hosted Thanksgiving at our home and even though it was a busy day with many hours spent in the kitchen, I am always grateful for the opportunity to cook a memorable meal for my family. The recipes that I use are a combination of old and new favorites, some of my own and many that my mom cooked with when I was young. Now that I have children, one of my goals is to continue the old traditions while also starting new ones. This Spiced Cranberry Cider is part of the new recipe tradition we’ve started in our home and hopefully one that you will start too. It’s prepared in a crock-pot so it simmers for hours, filling your home with an aroma of the holidays. And the cran/apple duo…both tart and sweet, will remind you of comfort on a Fall/Winter Afternoon.

Drizzle in some caramel for a treat your children will love, or spike with a shot of spiced rum or butterscotch schnapps for an adult version that your guests are sure to enjoy. The combination was certainly a favorite in our home yesterday!
