Elegantly wed in British Columbia

I recently had the the honor of preparing floral arrangements and table decor for a beautiful wedding that took place in British Columbia. My objective: to create designs with posh and lavish appeal on a modest budget. This is always a favorite task of mine. Fresh flowers play such an important role in any wedding or celebration and I believe that even with a modest budget, the simplest of arrangements can add a special element to any event.

All of the designs for this wedding were inspired by the bride’s vision of elegance and romance, along with her color scheme of tiffany blue, violet and white. Here are a few of the techniques that allowed me to create the posh floral arrangements and centerpieces, which are further reflected in the beautiful imagery below.

All florals were DIY.

I ordered them through a local wholesale grocer as well as online for overall better pricing.

I chose in season blooms that wouldn’t need to be shipped from out of the Country.

Vases were borrowed and purchased at discounted stores.

The bride opted for simple and less intricate floral designs as well as large blooms such as hydrangea, that didn’t require a lot of reworking.

Using hydrangeas allowed me the ability to create simple and modern bouquets with only a few stems per bouquet, thus allowing more flowers available for the remaining arrangements.

Lastly,  I mixed and matched the reception decor, using a variety of flower arrangements in different sizes on half of the guest tables, while using candle centerpieces on the others.

Ceremony florals were simple and chic in a mix of all white hydrangeas and roses.

I used all white roses for the bride’s dome shaped bouquet, adding in some diamond accents for a touch of posh glam.

The bride’s bouquet stems were wrapped in tiffany blue satin ribbon, adorned with pearl studded pins and an image of her late Father.

Bridesmaids carried simple yet elegant bouquets of white hydrangea with touches of violet statice. Stems were wrapped in violet satin ribbon.

Another shot of the gorgeous bridal bouquets made of white roses, white hydreangea and violet statice. I removed all greenery and leaves to add a modern touch and my signature style to all floral arrangements.

The groom’s boutonniere was made of a single stem white rose, white snapdragons and a sprig of violet statice, adorned with a chrome wire wrap for the final touch.

Groomsmen’s boutonnieres were created using white hydrangea, white snapdragons and a sprig of violet statice, wrapped in black floral adhesive.

Candle centerpieces were hand detailed with diamond studs and violet ribbon with diamond buckle detail. Diamond cut table scatter finished off the look.

Elegant white roses and hydrangeas made for gorgeous mix and match centerpieces.

Billowy white hydrangea, white rose, violet statice and snapdragon centerpieces helped set the tone for the evening, which couldn’t have been more beautiful or elegant for that matter.
